Java Lane and Blue Star came into the Super 8 stage in good form but failed to live upto expectations as they were unable to notch a win in the first six matches. Both sides were determined to end the campaign on a high.

Blue Star rung in the changes for a new and young looking side, with a few key players not in the lineup; including E.B.Channa, Shivanka, Yankson Richard and Rangana Silva.

It was Java Lane who took control early on settling down to pull the strings. The chances they created were once again wasted as the forwards were unable to take use of them.

However Java Lane went into half time with a goal advantage as Mohamed Abdullah scoring boosting the Slave Island boys’ confidence.

If Java Lane dominated the first half it was the turn for Blue Star to take control as they equalized early on when Shifakath Rahuman turned home from close range after good work done on the left.

Much like the first half Blue Star returned the favour for Java Lane missing quite a few chances as the match ended 1-1.
