The SLC Premier League Tier B games commenced around the island today with SL Ports Authority and Panadura SC firmly placed in the driving seat at the end of day one.
SL Navy SC v SL Air Force SC
After winning the toss the Sailors opted to take first lease of the wicket. However, the Airmen kept chipping away with crucial wickets from as early as the first over as Navy SC couldn’t build any source of momentum. The sailors found some resistance in the lower middle order through Buddika Hasaranga, Sameera Sandamal and Ashan Ranasinghe as they ended day one on 268/8. The bowling attack was led by Sahan Jayawardane with impressive figures of 4/61

Lankans CC v Panadura SC
Winning the toss Panadura SC invited their opponents to bat first. They wasted little time in the middle as they ran through the Lankan CC line up wrapping them up for a mere 163 runs in 34.1 overs. Lasith Fernando led the wicket taking charts with 4/29 while Nimesh Vimmukthi bagged 3/48. Panadura got off to a decent start and eased passed the first innings to end day 1 at 244 thanks to a classy ton by Mishen Silva.

SL Police SC v Sri Lanka Ports Authority
Port’s authority wreaked havoc against hapless Police SC as they latter was dominated on day one. Batting first Police was sent packing for a mediocre 103 with Chanaka Komasaru bagging an impressive five wicket haul for the Ports Authority. In response Ports Authority got off to a scintillating start as they ended day one with both openers unbeaten on a century stand.
