Nestle Lanka PLC for the 27th time together with the Sri Lanka Schools’ Netball Association (SLSNA) will conduct the Milo All Island Schools’ Netball Championship from the 2nd-4th August at the Bogambara Stadium, Kandy.

Holy Family Convent, Kurunegala once again cemented their place as the Queens of Sri Lanka Schools’ Netball…
The tournament will be conducted under three age groups – U14, U16 & U18. More than 5,000 players representing 480 teams are expected to participate in the tournament.
All the teams will be categorized into two divisions – ‘A’ & ‘B’ where 390 will take part in the A division and 90 schools take part in the B division. The schools which consist of more than 4000 students will come under Division A while schools below 1000 students will be included in Division B.
Speaking at the Press Conference, Colonel Manjula Kariyawasam – Director of Sports stated,
“All facilities will be provided at Bogambara for a successful tournament and thank you Nestle Lanka for helping us for the 27th year running.”
The main objective of the SLSNA is to improve the standard of the game and encourage outstation schools to participate. The added feature this year is that there is an increased participation of schools from the northern and eastern districts.
“The dream of a school girl is to become a netballer and go through the ranks. It has been a long journey up-to now. I would thank all three; the Ministry of Sports, Education Ministry and Milo for all the help provided in order to accomplish of that dream,” President of the SLSNA Malani Herath added.
In the last year’s tournament Holy Family Convent, Kurunegala became champions in the U19 & U13 categories and won 3rd place in the U17 category. Kaluthara Balika Vidyalaya and Visakha Vidyalaya were crowned U15 & U17 champions respectively.
