Thurstan College took on Holy cross college today in an inter school cricket match which took place in Kalutara. Thurstan College elected to bat first and scored a total of 250 runs all out in 61.1 overs in their first innings.
Minhad Jaleel was in full flow scoring a dashing 123 runs which included 8 fours and 6 hits that sailed over. The rest of the batsman could not keep Up the same pace though Thimira Jayasinghe (34), Kavindu Kulasekara(28) and skipper Ramindu Kumarasinghe (28) held-fort to take the score to 250.
Nishal Chandika and Praveen Jayawickrame showed excellent figures chipping in with 4 and 3 wickets apiece. Holy Cross College were able to face only in 22 overs due to bad light and scored 70 runs for a loss of 2 wickets. The match remains interestingly poised.
