The second edition of the Mercantile Futsal Tournament will take place on the 20th of January at the Futsal World, Colombo 2 once again.
Unlike the first edition which played host to 32 teams in 8 groups in a tournament that lasted 2 days, this edition the organizers wanted the tournament to be done and dusted within one day and therefore this edition will only host 16 teams divided into four groups.
This will be a significant year for the Mercantile Football Association as they will be celebrating its 100th year.
First edition winners, Amana Takaful – A will not be taking part in this edition. Last year’s runners-up were LB Finance.
At the end of the group stage, the top two from each group will move into the quarter finals. The losers of the quarter-finals will go into the Plate category while the winners will move onto the Cup category.
This tournament was started with the hope of bringing out the passion for the game in people and helping people around the nation to develop their skills through Futsal.

Group B – Nations Trust Bank, DFCC Bank, ITX 360, WNS Global
Group C – Amana Bank, Eskimo Fashions, Standard Chartered Bank, Sampath Bank
Group D – Expo Lanka Holdings, Ceylinco Insurance, Virtusa LTD, Commercial Leasing
