An exciting Fair & Lovely Men MCA ‘B’ Division eliminator clash was washed out at the Surrey Cricket Village grounds in Maggona between Expolanka and John Keells Holdings ‘B’. As per the position on the points table, John Keells qualified and went to the qualifier rounds.
After being put into bat first, John Keells ‘B’ were off to a great start, posting 41 runs within the first 7 overs before losing opening batsman Ravindu Kodithuwakku for 14. The JKH ‘B’ team posted a substantial score of 245 for the loss of 5 wickets before torrential monsoon showers interrupted play.
Former Thomian Shashrika Pussegolla was unbeaten on 55. Off-spinner Ayana Siriwardana picked up 2 wickets for 40 runs for Expolanka.

The weather did not get any better during the course of the day as umpires Kapila Kottahachchi and Krishantha Rodrigo called off the match.
John Keells will play HNB on Tuesday (6th November) for the second qualifier.
