Mathews named in Sri Lanka ‘A’ squad for 1st One Dayer against England Lions

The veteran Sri Lankan batter Angelo Mathews has been named in 15-member Sri Lanka ‘A’ squad which will take on England Lions in the 1st One Dayer on the 15th February at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium.

The 35-year old Mathews who had been omitted from Sri Lanka white-ball squads in last two years, finds a place in Sri Lanka “A” One Dayer squad against England Lions, giving a signal that the national selectors are still keeping the veteran batter in consideration for the white-ball format.

Mathews’ last appearance for Sri Lanka in a white-ball game came in two years ago when he played against West Indies in 2021.

The Sri Lanka “A” team’s playing XI for the first One Dayer against England Lions will be selected from the below 15-member squad. The wicket-keeper batter Sadeera Samarawickrama will lead the Sri Lankan squad.
