Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have signed young Sri Lankan speedster Matheesha Pathirana as a replacement for injured Adam Milne.
19-year old Pathirana, fondly refered to as “Podi Malinga” because of his slinging action is set to replace the Kiwi pacer who got injured during CSK’s first match of IPL 2022.
Milne was all set to ply his trade for the CSK, after being bought him for INR 1.90 crore at the IPL 2022 Mega Auction.

Pathirana represented Sri Lanka U19s in the recently concluded ICC U19 Cricket World Cup but hasn’t played at the senior national stage yet.
Interestingly, Pathirana is the first Sri Lankan to be signed by an IPL franchise, even before playing for the Sri Lanka national team.
Chennai Super Kings is languishing around the bottom of the table at 9th place winning only 1 game out of 6. They will play their next game against Mumbai Indians tonight (21st April) at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai
