The first edition of the International League T20 is all set to begin in January next year. The six-team tournament is all set to feature players from all around the globe as some of the household names in franchise cricket are all set to arrive in UAE for this brand new chapter in the country’s T20 cricket scene.
Some of the teams announced their squads earlier and some of the franchises are still announcing their picks. One such name that was announced is the upcoming pace bowler from Sri Lanka Matheesha Pathirana. The youngster who gained fame due to his bowling action similar to the great Lasith Malinga has already played in the IPL and the Abu Dhabi T10 league and will play for the Desert Vipers in the upcoming tournament.

Pathirana made his IPL debut last year playing for Chennai Super Kings and made an impression straight away when he took a wicket in the very first over and followed it up with another wicket later in the spell. Pathirana was also revealed to be a retained player of the CSK franchise for the 16th edition of the IPL.
