Ragama CC v Negombo CC

It was a tame draw at Katunayake between these two side as Ragama CC batted through the last day. Play resumed with Ragama CC 127 for 2 in their first innings. Dineth Thimodya who was unbeaten on 41 went on to make 72 at a very slow pace while his overnight partner was dismissed for 51 early in the day. However, they were struggling to get going and the wickets were tumbling before Supeshala Jayathilaka and Sanjaya Chathuranga got together for the 6th wicket. The pair added 104 runs before Supeshala was dismissed for 90. Chathuranga managed to push on reaching triple figures and held one end up until stumps.

Early on, Negombo CC was asked to bat first and they posted a mammoth 474 with big centuries from Lasith Croospulle and Prasanna Jayamanne.

Alankara Asanka’s 6-for helped Badureliya take major honours against SL Ports Authority CC at Colts grounds today. Last day began with SLPP 233 for 5 in their first innings. Unbeaten centurion Adeesha Nanayakkara was the first to fall early on, and it was up to the tail to save their team. Only two players put their hands up and got them closer. It was Imesh Udayanga and Anuk De Alwis who added a valuable 65 for the 8th wicket. Their efforts were all in vain as SLPP finally succumbed to the pressure and was bowled out for 348 runs. Alankara Asanka was the pick of the bowlers taking four out of the five wickets which fell on the 3rd day, including the wicket of centurion Nanayakkara.
