Sri Lanka brushed off Maldives 80-32 in their final group game at the 13th Asian Netball Championship 2024 at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium in Bangalore, India.
It was a routine outing for Sri Lanka, who defeated Malaysia in their previous game, to secure a Semi Final place. Sri Lanka took a 11-goal lead to end the 1st quarter 18-7.

The defending champions upped the tempo in the 2nd quarter, winning it 25-6 to go into half time leading 43-13. After the break, they scored 21 goals to 11 in the 3rd quarter and in the 4th quarter made 16-8 to secure a comfortable win.
Throughout the game, Head Coach Nalika Prasadi made changes, testing their bench strength and combinations while giving adequate rest to the starting 7 who would play against Hong Kong in the Semi Finals.

Thishala Algama led the scoring for Sri Lanka with 48 off 50 (96%), while Hasitha Mendis had 17 off 23 at 74%. Shanika Perera, who played as a GD or GK throughout the campaign switched to Goal Shooter in the final quarter and scored 12 off 16 at 75%, while Rashmi Perera scored 3/5 at 60%. Overall, Sri Lanka shot 80 off 94 at 85%.
