Maliyadeva College emerged the victorious of inter school cricket encounter against St. Sylvester College Kandy which took place at Maliyadewa ground.
St Sylvester College continued their batting today and managed 96 runs all out. Maliyadeva College which scored 267 runs in the first innings yesterday had the Kandy school on the ropes.
Sylvester’s Sumeda Dassanayake generally one of their better batsmen just managed 31 runs.
Maliyadeva College was brilliant in the bowling department with Rasanjana Jayarathne chipping4 wickets. Harshana Jayamapthi and Sachintha Peiris managed 2 wickets each.
In the second innings Maliyadeva went through 8.1 overs and scored 31 runs before the match ended. St Sylvesters were unable to get a single Maliyadeva batsman.
The match was ended in the evening making Maliyadewa College winners in the first innings.
