DSI Volleyball Championship selections of the Western Province concluded in the previous weeks.
Colombo District
Royal College, Colombo dominated the boys’ section of the tournament as they ended as the champions of the U19 and U15 age groups and runners up of the U17 age group.
The girls from Rajasinghe Central College, Hanwella clinched the championship of the U19 age group while Lumbini College, Colombo became the champions of the U17 age group.
Gampaha District
The Volleyball giants from Negombo; Davisamara Maha Vidyalaya, Seeduwa seized the championships of the U19, U17 and U13 age groups while De Mazenod College, Kandana ended up being the runners up of the U19 and U17 age groups.
In the girls’ section Rathnavali Balika Vidyalaya, Gampaha became the champions and the runners up of the U19 and U15 age groups respectively while Mahagamasekara Maha Vidyalaya, Radawana grabbed the championships of both the U17 and U13 age groups.
Kalutara District
Vidyarathna University College, Horana conquered the boys’ section winning the championships of U19, U15 and U13 age groups and being the runners up of the U17 age group. The only championship they missed out on was won by Pothupitiya Maha Vidyalaya, Wadduwa.
Agamathi Balika Vidyalaya, Panadura was crowned as the champions of the U19 and U17 age groups of the girls’ section and Remuna Maha Vidyalaya, Anguruwatota became the champions of the remaining two age groups.
