Sebastianites Cricket & Athletic Club defeated Panadura Sports Club by 56 runs in the only match worked off today (04th November) in the SLC Major Club Limited Over Tournament.

After being out into bat first, the Sebastianites managed to put on 228 runs all out in 49.2 overs. The 24-year old right-hander Sachitha Jayathilaka top-scored with a brilliant knock of 71 runs off 96 balls, including 3 fours and 4 sixes.
Iwanka Sanjula and Danushka Ranasinghe were the top performers with the ball for Panadura SC as they bagged 2 wickets each. Chasing 229 runs to win, the Panadura SC batters got off to a decent start in the first powerplay with 52 runs on the board without losing a wicket.
However, a sudden batting collapse saw them bowled out for 174 runs in 42.5 overs. The opener Dunith Jayatunga, who made 49 runs off 74 balls with 4 fours and a six, was the only standout performer with the bat for the lads from Panadura.
The left-arm spinner Chamikara Edirisinghe displayed an excellent bowling performance, taking 4 scalps for 34 runs.
