Twelve games of the SLC Major Emerging 3-Day Tournament resumed for the 2nd day today in different venues across Sri Lanka.
Tamil Union C & AC and Colts CC recorded their second respective wins in the tournament as they beat Panadura SC and Kandy Customs CC respectively.
In Panadura, it was Dilum Sudeera who starred for Tamil Union with an impressive bowling effort of 8/32 in the 2nd innings to comfortably beat hosts Panadura CC by 9 wickets. In Colombo, pacers Jehan Daniel and Harshana Wickramasinghe bagged 5 wickets each for Colts, following Ravindu Rashantha’s century, helping them beat Kandy Customs CC by a massive margin of an innings and 266 runs at home. Rashantha’s century is also his second score above 100 in the tournament.
Navy SC’s Sulekshana Srieshan was the only centurion of the day as his 116 helped them post a competitive 355 against SSC, who are still searching for their first win of the game having lost both their first matches.
The second-highest wicket-taker of the tournament at the moment, Moors SC’s Theesan Vithusan, grabbed his 3rd 5-wicket haul of the tournament, putting his team in a strong position against Sebastianites C & AC, while the third-highest wicket-taker of the tournament Bloomfield C & AC’s Rajendran Aravinth claimed yet another 5-wicket haul in their game against Kurunegala Youth CC. This is Aravinth’s 4th in 5-fer in the tournament.
Pasindu Ushetti (6/41), Sandun Abeywardhana (5/80) and Prageeth Gunathilake (5/87) all claimed 5-fers today for Negombo CC, Lankan CC and Nugegoda S & WC respectively.
The final day of the ongoing 10 matches will commence tomorrow.
