Former Sri Lanka Captain Mahela Jayawardene has rejected the offer to become the Head Coach of the England Men’s Cricket Team.
As reported by Daily Mirror of the United Kingdom, The 44-year old Jayawardene has ruled himself out of the running for the vacant England Head Coach job.
Jayawardene was said to be high on the list of targets for the England Men’s Cricket Team’s new Managing Director Rob Key, who is searching for a suitable candidate to be Chris Silverwood’s successor.

Jayawardene, the current Head Coach of Mumbai Indians franchise in the Indian Premier League, is considered to be one of the best tacticians going around who led Mumbai Indians to 3 title-winning campaigns (2017, 2019 & 2020), and guided the Southern Brave franchise to the inaugural The Hundred title in 2021.
