Renowned Sri Lankan coach Samoan born Tulagese Tavita more fondly known as ‘Laga’ has on the return to his hometown, gone beyond his call of duty to sponsor rugby uniforms for his village rugby team.
The former CR & FC, Kandy SC player and coach who has made Sri Lanka his second home for more than a decade coaching club and school teams has made this contribution on his visit back to his country of birth, Samoa.
Rugby is played in almost every part of Samoa and Laga has taken it upon himself to sponsor rugby jerseys, shorts, t-shirts and warm-up t-shirts to the team.
According to the SamoaObsever.ws, the jerseys were presented during a ceremony at the Bayview Resort at Saleaula.
Tavita ‘Laga’ is currently in charge of CH & FC in Sri Lanka as they ready for the upcoming Dialog Rugby League having spent two years coaching S. Thomas’ College Mt Lavinia.
