The Inter-internationals 2016 tournament has been a great tournament for all the International schools in Sri Lanka. Many nail biting moments and exceptional innings were witnessed.
After two weeks of nonstop Cricketing action it was Lyceum Wattala who took the cup home. The Wattala Lyceumites were a good team and a treat to watch from the start of the tournament. They managed to become champions beating all the International Schools in Sri Lanka.

Lyceum International School, Wattala vs. Lyceum International School, Nugegoda
The Wattala camp won the toss and chose to start the innings with the bat. They had an exceptional start with a strong set of batsmen. Sharmigan Sridaran and Gihan De Zoysa both scored a centuries for Lyceum Wattala. Those two centuries from the top order was really crucial as it released a whole lot of pressure and made the target look harder for the opponents. After some big hits and steady innings Lyceum Wattala ended up with 278/2 in the end of 40 overs. It was quite a difficult chase for the Nugegoda boys to make in 40 overs. They didn’t look good with the bat at first, early wickets was a big reason they couldn’t gain momentum. Wattala had a very strong bowling attack which made it really hard for the Lyceumites from Nugegoda to score. Their top order was bowled out early which made it look really hard to the Lyceum Nugegoda. They ended up making 108 and getting all out in just 19.1 overs. Lyceum Wattala finished things in style winning by 170 runs and they took the cup home.
