Trinity College Kandy dominated their inter school cricket match against Mahamanama College, which was played at the Asgiriya Stadium today.
The visitors after ending day one on 101 for the loss of 2 wickets could only managed a further 88 runs with Pavan Devinda top scoring with a brilliant 82 runs. Devind carried on his good work from day one after being unbeaten on 58* runs. Thanula Wickramasinghe who was also unbeaten at the end of day one managed to get 32 runs.
For the home team skipper Dinuk Wickramanayake and Lakshan Jayasinghe grabbed 3 wickets apiece for 37 and 43 runs respectively. The Trinity skipper in particular bowled a very tight line and length to make it difficult for the Mahanama batsmen.
Mahanama then in their 2nd innings managed to bat through till the close of play with 162 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. Top order batsman and 1st innings highest scorer Pavan Devinda came through once again with a score of 60 while Senura Welagedera and Tharanga Madushanka both contributed with 24 runs each. Devinda was in sublime knick as he notched up 142 runs in two innings.
Trinity captain, Wickramanayake continued his tight bowling ending with figures of 4 for 46 while Lakshan Jayasinghe also grabbed 4 wickets. The duo managed to capture 14 wickets between them.
