Legendary All Black Richie McCaw in Sri Lanka

All Blacks skipper and legendary  flanker Richie McCaw is in the island on a short visit.

McCaw is a three time winner and three  time nominee of the IRB player of the year award. He is also the most accomplished All Blacks captain of all time and arguably the best open side flanker in the history of the sport. Under his leaderships the Blacks have won the World Cup, Tri Nations trophy, Blesdisloe cup and multiple grand slam tours of the UK. McCaw holds a staggering 88% win ratio in his international career which has spanned 116 tests.

The Kiwi is currently injured and is on leave from his super rugby franchise the Crusaders, a team he led to multiple championships.

It is perplexing however for sports fans that in his first visit to the country, the sports media has been completely left out of proceedings and is unable take him to his beloved fans in Sri Lanka.

His visit is of a corporate nature and therefore the sports media were not allowed official access to him. Many fans have conveyed deep disappointment that the icon was not allowed access to fans via media at least.
