The Table Tennis National team will embark from Bandaranayake International Air Port on 25th April 2015 in order to participate for the Qoros 2015 World Table Tennis Championships.
The World Table Tennis Championships will take place in Suzhou, China from the 26th of April – 03rd May 2015 where the top contenders of the world will battle out for supremacy. Six players from the island nation will participate in this tournament which will include one team each in the male and the female category.
The skipper of the men’s team Jayasinghe sharing his thoughts with ThePapare.com said “We have an experienced team with two national champions in it. I myself have participated in the last World cup as well. With all the experience on our hands we will try our level best to bring glory to our motherland”.
The skipper of the women’s team Erandi Warusawaithan sharing her thoughts said that they have been practicing since final selection and by now they have developed confidence to face the top opponents of the world. Sharing her thoughts furthermore “Our team is in a good mental condition so we will give our best to win the events we participate and bring glory to our motherland”.
