Former Sri Lanka skipper Lahiru Thirimanne has been hospitalised after his car was involved in a road accident in Anuradhapura.
Thirimanne was on pilgrimage when the accident occurred in the morning. His car had crashed into a lorry travelling in the opposite direction.

However, Thirimanne’s franchise team in the Legends Cricket Trophy – New York Strikers released a media statement assuring that the player was safe after being involved in the accident.

We wish to inform you that Lahiru Thirimanne and his family were involved in a small car accident while visiting the temple. Thankfully, they have been admitted to the hospital for observation.
Fortunately, following a thorough medical assessment, we can confirm that they are all safe and sound, with no cause for concern. We appreciate the outpouring of concern and support from everyone during this time.
