The Sri Lankan camp has been hit with fresh injury worries, with the speedster Lahiru Kumara being ruled out of the ICC World Cup Qualifier 2023 due to a side strain.
Kumara sustained a side strain during Sri Lanka’s Super Six encounter against the Netherlands and will play no further part in the qualifiers.
The 27-year old off-spinning all-rounder Sahan Arachchige is set to replace him in the squad.
After returning home, Kumara will be involved in a rehabilitation program at the High Performance Center at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium.
Sri Lanka will play their next Super Six encounter against the hosts Zimbabwe tomorrow (2nd July), at Queen’s Sports Club in Bulawayo.
