Sri Lankan batsman Kusal Janith Perera might not be available for the third ODI against England on 17th October in Pallekelle, due to a hamstring injury, ThePapare.com learns.
“He is having a small niggle in his hamstring, which he picked up during the second ODI. He will undergo a MRI scan on Tuesday (16th October) and will be further examined before taking a final call.” Sri Lanka Team Manager Charith Senanayake told ThePapare.com on Monday.

He did not train with the team on Monday evening at Pallekelle International Cricket Stadium but went through a minor fitness test with team physiotherapist Ajantha Wattegama to find out the extent of his injury.
Perera, batting at number four made a 37-ball 30 in their team’s 31-run (D/L) loss in Dambulla last Saturday.

If Perera is deemed unfit, Sadeera Samarawickrama will come into the playing XI. 23-year old Samarawickrama, a stylish right-handed batsman played three ODIs last year against Pakistan and India.
Meanwhile, in the England camp, left-arm spinner Liam Dawson’s availability for the next few ODIs is in doubt because of a side strain.
England lead the five-match ODI series, 1-0 after two games in Dambulla last week. The 3rd and 4th matches will be played in Pallekelle before the series comes to an end in Colombo.
