Kusal Janith Perera has been ruled out of the remainder of the Sri Lanka vs England ODI Series, due to a quadriceps injury, which he suffered during the 2nd ODI in Dambulla.
Perera, batting at number four made a 37-ball 30 in their team’s 31-run (D/L) loss last Saturday.
Kusal Mendis comes into the squad as the replacement. He was training and travelling with the original squad from the start of the series.

He was dropped post Asia Cup after failing to score a half-century in his last 21 ODI innings. His last 50+ score in ODI cricket came against Zimbabwe in June 2017 against Zimbabwe.

Meanwhile, Dimuth Karunaratne, Sri Lanka’s premier Test batsman has also joined the squad as a cover batsman for the rest of the series.
