Kotmale Dairy Products (Pvt) Ltd, empowered by Cargills Group, has joined hands with Isipathana College to further strengthen the Rugby team, with a sponsorship for a span of 3 years, including the current season. The media conference for the unveiling of the jersey, including the sponsorship cheques were presented earlier this evening at the Garnet Room of Hotel Janaki Colombo 5.
Rajeev Rodrigo, the Isipathana Old Boys’ vice president, present at the occasion, expressed that the team has started off their season pretty well and will be looking forward to continuing their good run along with Kotmale who have joined hands.
Representing the Kotmale Group Mr. Imithiaz Abdul Wajeed, the Managing Director of Cargills, together with Maljini Jayasekara the Group Manager of Marketing, attended the conference to hand over the sponsorship cheque to the OBA.
Isipathana College has been one of the front runners in the history of school’s rugby producing over 70 caps for the national team and even with a low funding structure, they have been constantly dominating teams in the top league.
Pathana are currently unbeaten after two wins against Dharmaraja and D.S. Senanayake in the first two games of the season and are one of the 4 teams which are yet to be beaten. They will next face St. Peter’s at Havelock Park on the 7th of April.
