The Kotmale Chox U 19 schools T 20 has come to its culmination with the semi-finals being played at the Bloomfield grounds on 9th April 2013 while the 3rd place play-offs and final will take place on 10th April 2013.
Kotmale Chox came in this year as proud sponsor of this tournament and has infused the much needed momentum to the tournament.
After weeks of battle between 16 teams, the semi-finalists have emerged with old rivals Prince of Wales College Moratuwa taking on St Sebastians College Moratuwa and St Peter’s college taking on Wesley College.
Prince of Wales beat Joseph Vaz Wennapuwa scoring 138 in 18.3 overs to which Joeseph Vaz replied with just 115. St Sebastians took on the fancied Nalanda who they beat by 23 runs.
The Wesley/Josephs battle was a tough one with Wesley reduced to 7 for 5 at one stage showing grit to overcome the Joes target of 68 scoring 72 for 8 in 18 overs in the end.
St Peter’s overcame Gurukula which was a close tussle for the acclaimed Bambalapitiya lads but won by 14 runs. Gurukula chased the target of 156 set by St Peters and came close with 142.
