The U17 Division I schools cricket tournament 2019 for the ‘Singer Trophy’ is all set to begin its knock-out matches following the conclusion of the 2nd round.
The 50-over tournament which kick-started in May with the participation of 74 teams saw 32 teams from 10 groups reach the 2nd round. The qualified teams were once again seeded in 4 groups.
After weeks of highly competitive cricket, the top 2 teams from each group have made it to the all-important round of 16. Commencing the knock-out stage, 8 pre-quarter finals are to be worked-off before the deadline given by the Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association (SLSCA), which is the 29th of this month.
The 16 teams to top the 2nd round groups are as follows,
Group Q | Prince of Wales College, Moratuwa | St. Thomas’ College, Matara |
Group R | St. Sylvester’s College, Kandy | Kalutara Vidyalaya |
Group S | De Mazenod College, Kandana | Mahinda College, Galle |
Group T | Royal College, Colombo | Thurstan College, Colombo |

Group V | Trinity College, Kandy | Mahanama College, Colombo |
Group W | S. Thomas’ College, Mt. Lavinia | D. S. Senanayaka College, Colombo |
