Kia the iconic Korean automobile brand has enhanced its support to Royal College`s rugby development program with a larger, three year commitment. A media briefing was held today at Royal College Skills Centre in tune with the Jersey Launching Ceremony.
Entering the fourth year in 2015, Kia`s sole sponsorship of Royal Rugby will now go beyond the 1st XV to include the Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18 rugby teams of Royal College, in an effort to support the College`s current and future requirement in this sport.
Just as KIA, a stylish, youthful and dynamic brand has moved upto the top five in the global motor rcar industry, Royal Rugby teams from senior to junior are expected to steadily climb up in the School`s League tables. KIA`s long term commitment to Royal Rugby is viewed as an inspiration to fulfill the Royal plans for continuous improvement of Rugby through the second decade of this millennium.
Addressing the media at the signing of the sponsorship agreement, Chairman of Royal Rugby Advisory Committee, Hemaka Amarasuriya said “Royal is traditionally known for technical skills and prowess of it`s forwards, this year we have built an all-around team that will dominate all aspects of the game. With the extension of KIA`s sponsorship to Junior teams, we are now in a position to build and retain quality teams into the future and sustain a dominant position in Schools Rugger for the remainder of this decade”.
KIA`s new sponsorship agreement was formally signed at the Royal College Skills Center by the directors of KIA Motors (Lanka) Limited and the Chairman and the Members of the Royal College Rugby Advisory Committee.
