‘Singer Cup’ Under 13 Division I Inter Schools Cricket Tournament second round matches commenced yesterday at various venues with most teams getting first innings victory.
Mahanama vs Royal Panadura.
Left hand opening batman Kavindu Amameth of Mahanama College Colombo made an unbeaten 165 runs, with 20 boundaries and 5 sixes against Royal College Panadura in their match held in the round of the ‘Singer Cup’ Under 13 division I inter schools cricket tournament yesterday at the Mahanama College grounds.
Kavindu and Sathinu Kandage put on an unbroken partnership of 218 runs for the 3rd wicket.

Richmond College Galle vs Prince of Wales Moratuwa
Richmond was bowled out cheaply for 107 runs with Seneth Ishan top scoring with 26 runs. Vishuka Weerasinghe picked up 6 wickets for 17 runs. Prince of Wales lost their way in the first innings and were bundled out to a low score of 97 runs, mainly due to some brilliant bowling by the Richmond seamers. Ahemed Abdul and Jayod Pasindu picked up 4 and 3 wickets each.

Sri Sumangala College Panadura won first innings against Ranabima Royal College Kandy which was held in Kandy. Ranabima Royal batted first and were all out for 103 runs and in reply Sri Sumangala declared their innings at a total of 209 for the loss of 8 wickets in 44 overs.

St. Sebastian’s ran through the Dharmaloka batting order in quick succession in the game held in Moratuwa. They only managed 49 runs in 21.2 with Chithru Fernando returning figures of 6 for 11 runs. Sebastian’s replied with a score of 96 in the first innings in 34 overs. However, as the conditions had improved by the time Dharmasoka batted again and they managed 144 runs for 6 at the end of the day.
