Six matches in the Singer Schools U-19 Division 1 two-day cricket tournament 2017/18 were conducted today around the island. St. Aloysius College, Galle vs D.S. Senanayake College, Colombo
St. Aloysius College comprehensively defeated D.S. Senanayake College by 10 wickets today at Galle International Cricket Stadium to reclaim the the R.I.T Alles Memorial Trophy.
D.S batsmen resumed day two on 17 runs for 4 wickets and were bundled out for just 112 runs. Kavika Dilshan was the star with the ball as he grabbed a 5 wicket haul for 27 runs.
After being asked to follow on, D.S batsmen struggled again with the bat and they were ultimately bowled out for 178 runs. Left arm spinner Hareen Buddhila, who represented Sri Lanka U-19 team in the recently concluded world cup, picked up 4 wickets while Kavika Dilshan picked up another 4 wickets to make his match tally into 9 wickets.

Maris Stella College thrashed Prince of Wales College by 90 runs today at Kadirana grounds. Cambrians resumed day two on 98 runs for 7 wickets and added only 18 runs for the remaining 3 wickets. Left arm spinner Pasindu Ushetti bowled brilliantly as he picked up 5 wickets for 34 runs.
The Negombo boys began their second innings 56 runs ahead but a batting collapse saw them bundled out for just 111 runs. The Cambrians had to chase down 168 runs to win the match but were bundled for just 77 runs. Pasindu Ushetti picked up another 5 wicket haul in the second innings which made his match tally into 10 wickets for 65 runs.

Group C fixture between St. Servatius College and Gurukula College ended in a draw today at Sooriyawewa International Cricket Stadium. However, the crucial first innings points were won by Gurukula College. After being 116 runs for 3 wickets at one stage, the lads from Kelaniya were all out for 212 runs but managed to get first innings lead of 21 runs.
Pruthuvi Rusara and Kemira Nayanathara contributed with 40 runs and 36 runs respectively. Lads from Matara struggled again in the second innings as they posted 155 runs for 9 wickets when umpires called stumps on day two. Ruwan Chanaka was the pick of the bowlers for the Kelaniya boys with 3 wickets to his name.
