Karunaratne broke into the top 10 Test batting rankings in August 2019 with his brilliant 122 vs New Zealand which helped his team claim a six-wicket win over the visitors. He climbed further up to 6th position in the rankings at the end of New Zealand series.
But with the below-par return of performances with the bat, the Sri Lanka skipper has dropped down to no.11 in the ICC Test rankings (Batting)
Interestingly, no Sri Lankan player features in any of the top 10 rankings of batting, bowling and all-rounders rankings in Test, ODI and T20Is.
