Kasun Vidura was the architect of Kanrich Finances’ effortless win over MAS Silueta while LB Finance were made to work for their 26 run win over Hayleys in the semi-finals of the Mercantile ‘B’ Division tournament.
MAS vs Kanrich Finance
MAS were restricted to 177 after been inserted to bat by the Kanrich skipper. Sublime bowling by Alankara Asanka (3/17) and Prabath Jayasuriya (2/41) was the key to Kanrich’s efforts as MAS were dismissed for a below par total.
Middle order batsman Denuwan Rajakaruna was the only batsman to get a 30+ score while Pabasara Waduge (27), Angelo Jayasinghe (24) and Irosh Samarasuriya (21) chipped in for MAS.
Kanrich Finance, spear-headed by Kasun Vidura, who managed an unbeaten 108, cruised to an 8 wicket victory in just 21 overs. Fellow opener Shehan Fernando and number three batsman Pawan Wickramasinghe both chipped in with scores of 37 and 30 respectively to guide Kanrich to the target.

LB Finance vs Hayleys
Winning the toss and batting, LB Finance got off to a reasonable start as Sadeera Samarawickrama (69) and Lakshan Rodrigo (49) put on a 97 run partnership but regular wickets helped Hayleys restrict them to 243, as LB Finance failed to bat out their overs.
Inspired by Keshan Wijerathna, LB Finance came out with intent and defended their below par total, dismantling Hayleys to 217 all out in 45.4 overs. Maduranga Zoysa of Hayleys and Ronil Cooray were the two batsmen with notable contributions as the rest succumbed to LB Finances’ excellent bowling.

LB Finance will meet Kanrich Finance in the final of the Mercantile ‘B’ Division tournament. The match will be played at the Mercantile Cricket Association Grounds on the 1st of October 2016.
