Defending champions and the frontrunners in the rugby arena in Sri Lanka, the club from the hill capital Kandy Sports Club readies for yet another season in the Dialog Rugby League.
In the last three years under the captaincies of Sean Wijesinghe, Fazil Marija and Roshan Weeraratne, the hill country club has retained the Dialog League title and the Clifford cup successfully.
Last year’s league title win was something special for the club as Kandy went on to win the trophy after losing two games in the first round. Kandy faced a shocking defeat to Air Force and later Navy but won the other seven games with a bonus point to retain the league.
The Kandy Club will once again come into this year’s competition with hopes of not only retaining the title but to also remain unbeaten.
