The Kandy Garden Club Tennis Tournament which was the final ranking tennis tournament of the year ended on the 20th of December.
This year’s tournament featured the likes of close to 150 players who took part in a total of 13 events such as the Boys and Girls under 10 singles and the Mens and Womens open events.
Dumindu Dilum played consistently over the course of the tournament in order to win the all important Mens Singles event. He defeated Joshua Moraes in straight sets in order to win the finals with a score line of 6/4 6/3. S.T Rathnayake put on a scintillating display of Tennis paved the way to her winning the Womens Singles event. She faced tough competition in the likes of Dilenthi Dissanayake in the finals but she came out on top with a score line of 6/2 0/6 10/3.
