Kadurata-Uva Combined team led by Thilina Kandmby registered their third straight win with a crushing 13 run win (Duckworth/Lewis) over Ruhuna in their rain-curtailed inter-provincial cricket fixture at R Premadasa Stadium yesterday.
A good half century by opener Sahan Jayasuriya (80 off 87, 6×4, 2×6) upfront and a blistering 45 off 40 balls from all rounder Sachith Pathirana late in the order took Ruhuna to a decent 219 after put in to bat first, but, in-form Kandurata- Uva confidently chased the revised total down. The target was 150 runs off 38 overs where they were 13 runs ahead when rain prevent further play.
National discard spinner Sachithra Senanayake claimed three for 28 to bowl out Ruhuna for 219.
Tharanga Paranavithana and Dimuth Karunaratne shared 71 for the first wicket and rest of the middle order ensured a smooth sailing with six wickets in hand.
