St. Peters College Colombo managed to secure an emphatic innings win over Maris Stella Negambo a short while ago in Bambalapitiya.
The Petes with the help of their skippers ton on day one made sure that they made use of the advantage by claiming an innings and 8 run win. The visitors batting from their overnight score of 89 runs for 6 wickets could only muster up 124 runs in their first innings with Prasansala Jayamanne scoring 36 runs after continuing from his overnight score of 24*.
Right arm pacie Chemila Obeysekera’s fifer rocked Maris Stella as he made it difficult to bat with his seaming deliveries. Left arm leg spinner Julian de Zylva who has been amongst the wickets for St. Peter’s this season gave a helping hand claiming 4 wickets for 30 runs.
