Head coaches of Lanka Premier League’s (LPL) franchises Dambulla Viiking and Colombo Kings have been replaced, ThePapare.com learns.

Head coach of Dambulla Viiking, previously known as Dambulla Hawks and Dambulla Lions, Jon Lewis has pulled out from the tournament and another Englishman Owias Shah has been appointed for the post by the new owners of the franchise.
Bollywood actor and multi-billionaire businessman Sachin Joshi has bought Dambulla team and renamed as Dambulla Viiking last week.

Lewis was the representative for the Dambulla team when the Player draft was held and he played a significant role when selecting the squad for the franchise. The Dambulla Team, led by Sri Lanka all-rounder Dasun Shanaka, is packed with some promising cricketers like Sachindu Colombage, Kavindu Nadeeshan, Dilshan Madushanka and Ashen Bandara.
Meanwhile former Sri Lanka’s World Cup winning coach Dav Whatmore has also pulled out from the tournament citing personal reasons. He was previously named as the head coach of Colombo Kings and now will be replaced by former English Cap Kabir Ali.

The other head coaches of the teams are Hashan Tillakaratne (Kandy Tuskers), Thilina Kandamby (Jaffna Stallions) and Moin Khan (Galle Gladiators).
