Sri Lanka’s Jeevan Mendis has been picked to play in the South African city-based T20 league named Mzansi Super League (MSL).

The 6-team, month long league is scheduled to begin on the 16th November and will conclude on the 16th December.
Mendis was picked by Tshwane Spartans in the 3rd round of the player draft which happened today in South Africa. Star Internationals, AB de Villiers and Eoin Morgan, will also play alongside Mendis for the Spartans.

Mendis is also the only Sri Lankan player to feature in the inaugural edition of the MSL. The 35-year old all-rounder last played in the recently concluded Abu Dhabi T20 Trophy representing the Afghan T20 franchise, Boost Defenders.

His last appearance in the Sri Lankan jersey was in the Nidahas Trophy hosted by Sri Lanka. Since then he has found himself out of the Sri Lankan national set-up.
The experienced Sri Lankan T20 specialist has played in 139 T20 matches around the world including 22 T20 Internationals and 117 T20 matches in many leagues all over the world.
