Jayawardene to join Sri Lanka U19’s World Cup contingent

Former Sri Lankan captain Mahela Jayawardena will join the Sri Lanka U19 team as a consultant coach for the upcoming ICC U19 World Cup in the Caribbean.

Jayawardene will be leaving the island on the 8th of January to join the team bubble upon a negative PCR result by the 9th, Sunday in Guyana, Jayawardena confirmed to ThePapare.com.

The Sri Lanka youth team left for the West Indies on the 2nd of this month straight from Dubai after finishing the U19 Asia Cup as runners up.

Sri Lanka U19s will take on Scotland U19s on the 14th of January for their opening game and will be followed by games against the mighty Australia U19s and the hosts West Indies U19s on the 17th and 21st January respectively.
