Japan secured a comfortable 3 set win against Sri Lanka in the 2nd Asian Men’s U23 Volleyball Championship in Ardabil, Iran.
Sri Lanka up for Asian Men’s U23 Volleyball Championship
The 2nd Asian Men’s U23 Asian Volleyball Championship will be held in Ardabil, Iran and the Sri Lanka National U23 Volleyball team which will be participating for the competition, completed their training sessions in the Sports Ministry Indoor Stadium.
Sri Lanka was down by 7 points at 16-9 in the 1st set and Japan extended the lead to 11 points to win 25-14.
Sri Lanka put up a better fight in the 2nd set but had to go down 25-17. Japan finished off the 3rd set in commanding fashion scoring 25-13.
Sri Lanka will need to win their next match against Thailand if they are to make it to the top eight team battle from pool D.
Kazakhstan defeated Uzbekistan 20-25, 25-19, 25-16, 22-25 & 16-14. Malaysia defeated Australia 22-25, 25-19, 25-17 & 25-22. Iran had a tough game against Pakistan but managed to win in 3 sets. (25-12, 29-27, 28-26)
