Janitha represented Air Force club in the Men’s Volleyball Thai-Denmark Super League for the 2018 season, the 5th edition of the tournament which started in 2014. Air Force defeated Visakha Volleyball Club 25-22, 25-12 & 25-20 in the final to clinch the championship.
Thailand who are ranked 41st in the world, compared to Sri Lanka’s 78th, has one of the well-known leagues in the world. Janitha joined Air Force from the 2nd round matches in the Men’s Volleyball Thailand League in January after finishing the home season.

He played with and against the top players in Thailand along with players from Brazil, Cambodia, Myanmar & Kyrgyzstan gaining valuable experience and international exposure.
Thailand Air Force team was renamed in 2016, after it was formed in 2010 as Chonburi E-Tech Air Force, has managed to win three Thailand League titles (2010-11, 2011-12 & 2016-17) and won the Thai-Denmark Super League in 2014 & 2015. They were ranked 9th in the 2017 Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship.

The Thai-Denmark Super League tournament takes the top six of the Men’s Volleyball Thailand League and divide them to two groups of three. The top two of each group moves into the semi-finals.
Air Force played in Pool B where they won against Cosmo Chiang Rai 25-15, 25-17 & 25-22 and lost to Samanun Ratchaburi 25-18, 25-19, 20-25, 22-25 & 10-15.
This meant that they had to face rivals Nakhon Ratchasima The Mall, who defeated Air Force for the League title, in the semi-finals. After a thrilling battle Air Force avenged their League title loss to Nakhon Ratchasima with a 3-2 win.
The opponents won the 1st set easily 15-25 but Air Force made it 1-1 after a closely fought 25-22 win in the 2nd. Air Force took a 2-1 lead winning the 3rd set 25-18 but Nakhon Ratchasima took the game to a decider winning the 4th 20-25. However, Air Force kept their composure to win the 5th set 15-11.
Visakha Volleyball Club defeated Samanun Ratchaburi 28-26, 25-20 & 25-21 in the semi-finals to book a place in the final.

The Men’s Volleyball Thailand League was the 12th season of the Thai League, the top Thai professional league for association volleyball clubs, since its establishment in 2005.
The 2016/17 champions Air Force, narrowly lost out on this year’s championship to Nakhon Ratchasima The Mall.
