Janith Liyanage, who was expected to be named in Sri Lanka’s squad to face Zimbabwe, has tested positive for Covid-19 and will miss the 3-match ODI series.
Liyanage is the second Sri Lankan player to miss out on the upcoming series due to Covid-19 after the opening batter Avishka Fernando tested positive Covid-19 yesterday (08th January).

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) confirmed that both Fernando and Liyanage will miss the Zimbabwe ODIs, with Kusal Mendis and Dinesh Chandimal are likely to replace them in the squad.
The 03 match ODI series, which is part of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League, will commence on 16th January. All matches will be played at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.
