Isipathana College pulled off a second half comeback to win their Under-16 friendly encounter against Trinity College, Kandy, 05-14 at the Pallekalle Grounds Kandy.
The Isipathana youngsters were coming off a big win against another Kandy side in the form of St. Anthony’s College.
It was however the boys from Kandy who struck first blood. After some good passing play, their fly half maneuvered his way between the two Pathana centers before diving over the line for an unconverted try.
The Isipathana boys tried to fire back, but to no avail as the referee blew for half time, sending the Trinity youngsters into the break with a 5-0 lead.

The Isipathana boys kicked off the 2nd half in determined fashion and it quickly paid off. Their forwards started off the attack before passing it off wide, that led to the ball finding the Pathana center who went on a blazing run before diving in between the posts. The try was then converted to give the boys from Colombo the lead.
Isipathana continued to dominate the game from that point with the majority of play taking place in the Trinity half.
Towards the dying moments of the game, the Isipathana youngsters struck again when their winger broke through the defense before diving for the try right at the left corner. The conversion seemed a daunting task for any player, but the Isipathana youngster stepped up and struck a stunning conversion to secure the added 2 points.
The Trinity youngsters failed to break through before the referee blew for full time to put an end to a thrilling encounter.
