The 57th battle of the Brothers encounter between Isipathana College and Thurstan College is set to take place on the 28th and 29th of February as it kickstarts March Madness, the “Big Match” season 2020.
Isipathana College and Thurstan College came together at Burgher Recreation Club as they hosted the media conference preceding the beginning of the 57th Battle of the Brothers.
Thurstan College who won the Big Match last year will walk into SSC with confidence in their ability to retain the Trophy at Reid Avenue. On the other hand, the double greens would be eager to even things out by winning the trophy this year.
Speaking to ThePapare.com, Thurstan skipper, Jayavihan Mahavithana who is a centurion at Battle of the Brothers said “A lot of people are wishing us a win this year too. So, to live up to all those expectations we will give our maximum to win it the second consecutive year.”
Isipathana skipper Leshan Amarasinghe, who has over 700 runs this season too expressed his views on the big game for his school “We are well prepared with all our key players and batsmen getting into form and we have won the first-innings in our last few games and we hope to make a twist on the big day!”
The game will also have the 60-over per team in the first-innings rule to make the game welcoming and interesting for the viewers.
Battle of the Brothers will be brought to you live on ThePapare.com, Dialog TV and MyTV from 9.00 am onwards on the 28th and 29th of February.
