Isipathana College, Colombo beat Trinity College Kandy by 14 points (2T,2C) to 10 (2T) in the All-Island Schools Under-18 rugby Cup Championship final played at the Royal Sports Complex .
The winners led 14-5 at the breather. Kushan de Silva and Asitha Gayashan scored the tries for Isipathana with Isuru Umayanga adding the extra points to one try. For Trinity, Ryan Weerakoon scored both tries.
In the semi-finals, Trinity beat St Anthony’s College Kandy by 15-0 while Isipathana beat St. Joseph’s College Maradana by 10 points to 5 in extra time. In the quarter finals Trinity College beat St Peter’s College 14-7, St Anthony’s College, Kandy beat Prince of Wales 10-5, St. Joseph’s College beat Royal College 10-7 while Isipathana College overcame D S Senanayake College 19-7.
St Peter’s College won the Plate Championship by beating Royal College by 12 points (2T, 1C) to nil. In the semi-finals, Royal beat D S Senanayake College 12-5 and St Peter’s thrashed Prince of Wales 28-5.Science College Mount Lavinia bagged the Bowl Championship by beating Kingswood College Kandy by 10 points (2 T) to 7 (1T, 1C) in the final. Royal College, Panadura took the Shield Championship with a 10 points (2T) to nil win over Vidyartha College, Kandy in the final.
