Isipathana College defeat D. S. Senanayake College at Havelock Park, 22 (4T 1C) – 06 (2P) in the Dialog Schools Rugby League 2023 to remain unbeaten, sitting pretty on top of Group 1A.
The home team came into the game making a single change, while challengers the Donz made three, all of which were in the forwards.
Isipathana started off in champion fashion as Shehadu De Costa scored off the opening phase of play, collecting loose ball and diving over the whitewash.
Rinesh Silva failed with the extras. However, the visiting faithful were stunned into silence. (IC 05-00 DS)
The Green Machine was in red hot form during the opening exchanges as D. S. were searching for ways to stop them.

Shehanda Umagiliyage pierced the posts as Pathana infringed, making it a 2-point game. (IC 05-03 DS)
Isipathana were next to strike this time through mercurial Outside Centre Shahid Zumri.
The youngster brought the razzle-dazzle, fending off would-be tacklers to go over.
His try added a bit of daylight between the two sides: however, Umagiliyage knocked over his second penalty of the day, cutting the deficit to 4, as the first half drew to a close.

The second half was all about Isipathana, and if the Donz would be able to stop them from scoring and securing the game.
Tries from Kalindu Shenal and Kaveen Thinethtra meant the Green Machine came away with a convincing bonus point victory.
The Fullback was the first to get over the line in the second half as he add the finishing touches to a sweeping backline move.
With time up on the clock, front row forward Kaveen was the scorer of the fourth try as the Pathana lads pushed hard toward securing the all important bonus point.
Their quest was successful, leaving the Donz empty handed.
