Schools Rugby will now shift to the shorter format of the game as the Inter School Under 18 Sevens tournament will kick off on the 28th of July 2018 at the Royal Complex.

With the conclusion of the Under 20 tournament, focus is shifted on to the junior age groups as the organizing body, the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association (SLSRFA) will conduct the junior tournaments for under 18, under 14 and under 12 in the coming months.

The under 18 division I sevens will take place on the 28th and 29th of this month at the Royal Complex with the participation of the heavyweights in the schools rugby arena. TeamTeams that didn’t take part in the under 19 competition such as Wesley and St. Peter’s have also confirmed their participation making it a much more interesting affair in the junior category.

Players born after 31st December 2000 are eligible to participate and it will be an ideal opportunity for the juniors who are on the brink of making it to the first team to bring out the best in them. Last year it was Trinity College that emerged victorious in the tournament defeating St. Joseph’s College in the final.
