The 4th ranked team in International Women’s Cricket, India, will tour Sri Lanka for 3 ODIs and 5 T20s starting on the 11th of September. The tour is scheduled to run through 2 weeks and conclude on the 25th of September.

The lasses of the 2 neighbouring countries last met each other in the Women’s Asia Cup in June, which was comprehensively won by the Indians by 7 wickets. The Asia Cup is in fact the last time both teams played International cricket.
Since then both teams have gone through some major changes with new coaches being appointed. Former Indian Cricketer Ramesh Powar took over the Indian job while former Sri Lanka Women’s coach Harsha de Silva was reappointed to the position after Hemantha Devapriya stepped down after the Asia Cup defeat.

Sri Lanka will be desperate to do well in this series as it has been a while since they have tasted any kind of success in international cricket.
