The final between the Indian visually impaired team and the Sri Lanka visually impaired team was worked off at GCA stadium at Goa this morning with India winning comprehensively by 10 wickets.

Indian skipper Jayaramaiah decided to field after winning and important toss. Centurion K Silva and wicketkeeper batsman Chandana Deshapriya stumbled to some brilliant bowling and fielding skills as the Lankan batsmen stumbled to 12 for the loss of 2 wickets within the first three overs. After playing three matches one after the other the tired Lankans lost their way losing wickets at regular intervals.

It was the Lankan skipper Priyantha Kumara who showed some resistance with the bat for Sri Lanka with some support coming from Dinesh Mathugama. The Lankans were eventually bowled out in the penultimate over of the innings for 95. A Reddy was India’s chief destroyer with the ball picking 4 wickets for 15 runs in his four overs. The Lankan innings also consisted of four run outs.

Chasing a target of 120 the Indian batsmen were off to a fantastic start as Rao and Gariya took India past the line in the 12th over. Rao took on the more attacking approach out of the two batsmen scoring an unbeaten 63 consisting 10 fours.

A Reddy was named the Man of the Match for his match winning 4 wickets.

Sri Lanka will play India in a bilateral series featuring 5 T20s and 3 ODI which is scheduled to start on the 15th of October.
